Baldwin the Fighting Squirrel
The Fighting Squirrels team nickname is inspired by the squirrel featured in the family crest of ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ namesake, Mary Julia Baldwin. Fighting Squirrels are courageous, dynamic, and authentic, capturing the spirit of ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ and its students.
Baldwin the Fighting Squirrel is the official mascot of ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ Athletics. Introduced in 2019, Baldwin appears at ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ athletic events as well as other campus and community events.
The health and physical well-being of ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ athletes is of utmost importance, and a full-time certified athletic trainer is employed by the university to ensure their safety. We’re also committed to the concept of the student-athlete, and offer participants holistic support that includes academics, extracurriculars, career preparation, and additional pursuits off the field.
ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ athletics is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association — NCAA Division III and the USA South Athletic Conference.
